Ralph Thomas Vick, Sr., 79, formally of Clarksville, TN, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2011 ,at Sumner Regional Medical Center Hospice Unit, after an extended illness. He was born October 12, 1931 in Hot Springs, VA. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1958 and was a member of the 11th Airborne Division Infantry as a paratrooper. He retired from Sears in 1992 as a salesman in the big ticket division. He was a devoted Christian and a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon for thirty-eight years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Lyle Vick; one son, Ralph Thomas “Tommy” Vick, Jr. (Lynn) Hustonville, KY; one daughter, Teresa Lynn Elmore (Phillip) Gallatin, TN; five grandchildren, Katharine Vick Collins (Dennis) Horse Cave, KY; Ralph Thomas Vick III (Kristy) Dalzell, SC; Melisa Hart, Gallatin, TN; Josh Elmore, Knoxville, TN; Lara McMahan (Justin) Gallatin, TN. ; three great-grandchildren; Carson Collins, Jamiah Manning and Brock McMahan; four brothers; his twin, Richard Vick (Marlene) Mesa, AZ; Donald Vick (Ann) Coos Bay, OR; J. H. Vick (Sharon) Coos Bay, OR; Randy Vick, Gresham, OR; four sisters, Dorothy Beach (Harry) Portland, OR; Helen Hollis, Kent, WA; Betty Vick, Gresham, OR; Phyllis Oneil (Jim); and eleven nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Melisa Ann Vick and his parents, Willie M. and Marie Vick. There will be a memorial service on July 22, 2011, at Hilldale Church of Christ in Clarksville, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation before beg inning at 9:00 a.m., until the time of service.
